KLCSM, an affiliate of SM Group (Chairman Oh-Hyun Woo) in the shipping sector, was selected as an excellent institution and received a certificate in the 2023 Industry-University Cooperation Excellent Institution Certification System conducted by the Ministry of Education on the 23rd.

The 'Excellent Industry-Academic Cooperation Certification System' introduced by the Ministry of Education for the first time this year is a system that selects excellent institutions by evaluating the results and plans of industry-university cooperation activities accumulated so far. Field practice for university students and industry-university cooperation curriculum are operated to obtain performance scores in the morning.

KLCSM operates a joint training center with Korea Maritime and Ocean University to conduct various job training for maritime personnel with the goal of fostering excellent maritime (marine technology) professionals. In particular, we are contributing to the cultivation of high-quality maritime talent by operating on-board field training for students at Maritime University and providing scholarships to excellent scholarship students.

Companies selected as excellent institutions for industry-university cooperation are given financial benefits such as interest rate cuts for two years, various fee discounts, and additional points when applying for national projects.

KLCSM is in charge of technology vessel management for shipping subsidiaries of SM Group, including Korea Shipping, Korea Shipping L&G, SM Shipping, Korea Shipping, and Changmyung Shipping.
