Bulk carrier assisted by tugs to hold on against severe storm, Germany, North sea

Bulk carrier VIENNA, in ballast, was waiting for orders at outer anchorage Cuxhaven/Wilhelmhaven, Germany, North sea, until Jan 29, when severe storm moved on into the area.

​VIENNA understood, heaved up anchor well in advance, to meet the storm while being under way.

But even with that, the ship wasn’t able to hold on against waves and wind, and asked for assistance.

Tugs reportedly, responded on Jan 29-30, helping bulk carrier to prevent onshore drift. Understood the ship is holding on against storm already without assistance, as of 0440 UTC Jan 30. 

 Comment: Take a look at the areas infested with wind farms – they’re hampering and endangering shipping and fishing, destroying along with that, the Nature and wildlife, both surface and undersea.
